JACK ASIS IN BIG WIN IN AUSTRALIA

Filipino Jack Asis who now fights out of Fairfield in New South Wales, Australia, has scored a big win in a light welterweight bout over previously undefeated Brett William ?Handful? Smith at the Sands Tavern in Queensland, Friday.
Asis, a super featherweight who entered the ring with an unimpressive record of 21-18-4 with 11 knockouts scored a stunning 8th round TKO with referee Alan Moore stopping the fight at 1:05 of the round after Asis dropped Smith twice in round eight.
He had earlier also dropped Smith twice in the very first round.
It was Smith?s first defeat after 9 wins and 1 draw with 5 knockouts.
Smith is the Australian lightweight champion. He won the title last September 10 with a unanimous ten round decision over Jason Crowe.
