The telecast of ?Pinoy Pride 3 ? The Rematch? over ABS-CBN Channel 2 turned in solid ratings on Sunday, outstripping its strongest competitor GMA 7 on the same timeslot.

ABS-CBN registered a national rating of 12.9 percent compared to rival GMA 7 which rated 10.8.

In South Luzon ABS-CBN rated a remarkable 23.5 percent which was more than double GMA?s 10.7 percent rating while in the Visayas the "Pinoy Pride 3 - The Rematch" telecast rated 20.4 percent to GMA?s 8.7 percent.

The fights took place at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino in Cebu on Saturday. In the main event Rey ?Boom Boom? Bautista proved his critics wrong with a rousing 3rd round knockout over Alejandro ?Zorrito? Barrera while in the supporting bout light welterweight Jayson Pagara crushed Indonesia?s Billy Sumba in the very first round.

Referee Tony Pesons was criticized for deciding to count Sumba out when it was obvious that he was out cold and not even moving instead of c alling in the ring doctors to attend to the fallen fighter.

Sumba lay on the canvas for a few minutes while medics have him oxygen and doctors Jose Unabia and Rene Bonsubre attended to him. After a few minutes Sumba was helped to his stool before leaving the ring.

Former WBC silver light flyweight champion Edrin Dapudong hammered game Indonesian Sofyan Effendi into submission in seven rounds in an action-packed bout that had the fans on their feet.

When referee Teddy Alivio stopped the bout Effendi who had been rocked several times pushed him in protest against the stoppage although Effendi was being battered in his own corner by Dapudong and didn?t throw a punch in return.
