Roli Gasca of the ALA Gym has scored a stunning 6th round knockout over WBA No.3 ranked bantamweight Tabtimdaeng Na Rachawat to win the Pan Asian Boxing Association title in Buriram, Thailand on Friday.
The Thai who belongs to the famous Galaxy Gym was making the 21st defense of the title he won with a 3rd round TKO over Allan Fuentes of the Philippines on Octoberv31, 2005.
With the win the 21 year old Gasca improved to 14-1 with 2 knockouts while Rachawat dropped to 34-2 with 23 knockouts.
The Thai champion was coming off a 4th round TKO of Festus Omondi of Uganda last May 26 while Gasca, in his last fight, won a unanimous ten round decision over tough Jason Egera.
Rachawat was named ?Fighter of the Month? by PABA for his impressive win over Omondi.
ALA Gym patron Tony Aldeguer said Gasca had an unorthodox style and going into the title fight had only one knockout victory. But Aldeguer told him the only way he could win in Thailand was by knockout and he took the message to heart and scored a KO.
Gascam who was ranked No.11 by the PABA was accompanied by promising young trainer Joseph Baldado and ALA Promotions public relations director Chad Canares.
