BAGUIO CITY ? Whatever Manny wants, Manny gets.

Even in the matter of going back to Manila from his almost one month of altitude training here, its Manny Pacquiao?s wish that prevailed.

To the consternation of trainer Freddie Roach whose decision to leave Baguio City yesterday was again overruled by the seven-division champ?s desire to stay one more day here for reason only he knew.

Team Pacquiao will instead leave Thursday after another day of sparring at the Shape Up Boxing Gym at the Cooyessan Hotel.
If it?s any consolation though, Roach said the postponement can also benefit Pacquiao as it will give him the opportunity to box with Amir Khan for several more rounds.

?That?ll more than make up for lost time brought about by bad weather that cancelled at least two days of roadwork,? Roach said by way of consoling himself.
Khan, the World Boxing Association junior-welterweight kingpin, also cancelled his flight to the United States. He will join today?s trip to Manila instead and probably also join the team?s flight to Los Angeles Saturday.

Khan tests Pacquiao?s mettle anew in another four-round skirmish in, including another seven-round against regular sparmates Glen Tapia and Michael Medina, serves as his last in this, the country?s summer capital.

Counting the 68 rounds had earlier done, the reigning WBO welterweight titleholder will end his Baguio training with a total 79 rounds.

Roach told the Manila Standard he will be scheduling 60 rounds more to round out his sparring in his Los Angeles? Wild Card Gym where the team will stay before proceeding to Texas for the Filipino icon?s 12-round date with tough Mexican Antonio Margarito.

The ?Pacman? and the ?TijuanaTornado? battle November 13 (Nov. 14 in Manila) for the vacant World Boxing Council junior-middleweight crown at the multi-million-dollar Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington.

Despite his disappointment in not leaving for Manila yesterday, Roach expressed elation with the way his ward did the mitts and shadow-boxed yesterday.

He was, in fact, all smile and was exchanging jokes with Pacman after the day?s session.

?It was a good two days,? he murmured in reference to yesterday and Tuesday sparring that saw Pacquiao and Khan wowed all those admitted inside the gym with their speed and punching power.

For the second straight day, Pacman?s wife Jinkee watched her husband workout yesterday.

Pacman?s latest showing in the gym came as a stark contrast to Saturday and Monday sessions that failed to impress Top Rank top honcho Bob Arum, who, incidentally left for Manila yesterday following a five-day stay here.
