KONCZ LEAVES FOR U.S WITH AN AMENDED DEAL FOR PACQUIAO-MARGARITO FIGHT

Manny Pacquiao?s adviser Michael Koncz is scheduled to leave for the US Thursday after finalizing an amended deal for the pound-for-pound king?s November 13 showdown with Antonio Margarito for the vacant WBC light middleweight title.

Koncz had earlier indicated Pacquiao wanted more money than Arum first offered him but Arum told us that?s no problem.

Indications are Pacquiao wants a higher guarantee and Arum told us another $500,000 wasn?t likely to cause a problem and in any way affect their excellent relationship.

Koncz himself told us Pacquiao was conveying to Arum ?what he wants? although the adviser didn?t wish to discuss any figures but said ?I don?t think it?s a big problem either.?

Arum was flying to Dallas, Texas Thursday, Manila Time with Top Rank president Todd du Beof to meet over dinner with Jerry Jones, owner of the fabulous $1.2 billion Dallas Cowboys stadium where Pacquiao drew almost 51,000 fans for his WBO welterweight title defense against Ghana?s Joshua Clottey last March. Arum wants to stage the Pacquiao-Margarito fight in Dallas, confident that the big Mexican population in Texas would swell the gate to at least 60,000.

Meantime, Arum told us ?I really think Manny is going to win the (Margarito) fight but it will be the toughest, the most grueling fight he?s ever had and its going to be a sensational fight. This kid (Margarito) is going to throw a million punches from all different angles. He?s much bigger than Manny is, he has a great jaw and its going to be a great, great fight.?

Despite his views on Margarito and how dangerous an opponent he is, Arum said he believes Pacquiao will win and that he doesn?t think ?anybody can beat Manny. But it's going to a sensational fight.?

At the same time Arum said the fight would take place at a catch-weight of 151 pounds. He also disclosed that Floyd Mayweather Jr ?is out of the picture now but if he hopefully ends up with (Don) King, then King and I will put it together for next spring.?
