Two promising young prospects, undefeated Allan Tanada ( 8-0-2, 4 KO?s) and southpaw Jose Ocampo (12-2-2, 7 KO?s) battle for the WBO Asia Pacific Youth super featherweight title at the Arayata Sports Complex in Tanza, Cavite on Saturday.

The fight will be telecast on August 14 at 1:00 pm. over RPN 9 on Viva Sports ?The Main Event? sponsored by Tanduay, the No. 1 Rhum and will also be replayed over Viva Prime.

WBO Asia Pacific head Leon Panoncillo predicted it should be ?a great youth battle and an exciting bout ? which is also the assessment of well-known boxing TV analyst and longtime boxing man Moy Lainez who however predicted ?the fight will end in a knockout. It won?t go the distance.?

Lainez told us that Tanada who is managed by Rommel Nazario, son of the late Rod Nazario who steered the career of pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao to two world titles ?has power in both hands, is a thinking boxer with a big heart.?

He said the 19 year old Tanada is both an aggressive fighter if the situation demands and can also be an efficient counter- puncher who also has hand-speed.

Lainez described Ocampo as a slugger even as he predicted the fight won?t last ten rounds and would end in a knockout.

Tanada is coming off a 5th round TKO over Randy Megrino on April 24 this year after earlier scoring a 2nd round knockout over Christian Avila on February 27.

Ocampo on the other hand dropped Ronnel Esparas in the third round en route to a ten round unanimous decision on June 26 this year capping a string of four wins so far this year..

These included a 2nd round knockout of Roselito Campana on January 23, an eight round unanimous decision over veteran Jaime Barcelona on March 27 and a 4th round TKO over Sammy Galinato on May 15.
