Riding high on the 30,000 turnout at the tremendously successful Tagbilaran City, Bohol fight card, ALA Promotions and the giant broadcast network ABS-CBN have gotten together again to present a blockbuster fight card at the plush Pacific Ballroom of the Waterfront Hotel and Casino in Cebu on August 28.

Titled the ?Philippines vs The World? the event will be headlined by come-backing former world title challenger and current WBC International featherweight interim champion Rey ?Boom Boom? Bautista (28-2-1, 21 KO?s) who will battle Alejandro ?Zorrito? Barrera (20-3, 13 KO?s), a cousin of Mexican legend Marco Antonio Barrera.

In the supporting main event, classy, undefeated Milan Melindo (21-0-1, 6 KO?s) will clash with Korean flyweight champion and Oriental Pacific Boxing Federation No. 4 ranked Jin-Man Jeon (13-3-1, 3 KO?s) while hard-hitting southpaw Jimrex Jaca (30-6-3, 15 KO?s) will engage Pipino Cuevas Jr, (14-5, 12 KO?s) son of the former WBA world welterweight champion and one of the most devastating punchers Pipino Cuevas who reigned for some six years before losing the title to Tommy ?The Hitman? Hearns in what is certain to be a war.

Also making his return to the ring and determined to set himself up for a crack at the IBF minimum weight title which he won from Muhammad Rachman on July 7, 2007 in Jakarta is Florante ?The Little Pacquiao? (23-5-1, 20 KO?s)

Condes one of the hardest punchers in the lower weight divisions who will go up against Indonesia?s tough Sofyan Effendi who has 8 knockouts in 10 wins and is the current Pan Asia Boxing Association interim champion.

Bautista looked sharp and in terrific shape during a three-round sparring exhibition with Fernando Otic in Tagbilaran City and is determined to make an impact once again and to win over fight fans who had written him off after his losses to Daniel Ponce De Leon in a world super bantamweight title fight and an 8th round unanimous decision loss to Heriberto Ruiz.

Unknown to most was the fact that Bautista entered the ring with a left wrist injury which was only discovered later requiring surgery to remove a rotten bone and to graft a bone taken from his hip to replace it.

Bautista who had to take nine months off for therapy and rehabilitation returned on October 16, 2009 and scored a solid 7th round TKO victory over game Indonesian Marangin Marbun to win the WBC International interim title and then scored a 6th round knockout of Thailand?s Saichon Sotompitak in Dubai on April 23 this year.

The 30 year old Barrera is coming off a split decision win in a ten round bot with Sergio Rivera on April 23 this year after he was stunned by Carlos Urais in a bout for the vacant WBC FECARBOX title and was knocked out in the first round.

However, prior to that bout Barrera scored an impressive 3rd round TKO over Israel Ramirez.
