ABS-CBN TO REPLAY SANDUGO CARD TODAY

Fight fans who are still talking about the spectacular performance of A J ?Bazooka? Banal in his 5th round knockout of Big Yoo, the courageous Japanese fighter who carries the colors of South Korea as well as the huge crowd of some 30,000 fans who watched the fights at the Carlos P. Garcia stadium in Tagbilaran Coty, Bohol will have a chance to relive the excitement when ABS-CBN replays the fights on Studio 23 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.

First up will be the clash between aggressive Ricky Sismundo who entered the ring with a record of 16-5 with 6 knockouts and Jovie Merca 11-6-1 with 5 knockouts in a scheduled 8 round, junior lightweight bout.

It will be followed by a ten round showdown between super featherweights James Bacon (12-1, 8 KO?s) and Eric Macas (13-6, 6 KO?s).

Philippine lightweight champion Jason Pagara who tutned 18 on fight night and has an impressive record of 22-1 with 11 knockouts faced off with Korea?s welterweight champion Young Bin Kim, a much taller KO artist with a record of 10-1 with 7 knockouts in the build up to the main event which featured world-rated southpaw ?Bazooka? Banal against the aggressive Big Yoo who is actuallay a Japanese rated fighter named Hayato Kimura.

Banal entered the ring with a record of 21-1-1 with 17 knockouts while Big Yoo who was never stopped in his career paraded a ring record of 16-2 with 11 knockouts. Both Banal who is erated No. 4 by the WBC, WBO and IBF and Big Yoo are 21 years of age.

Their fight for the WBO Asia Pacific bantamweight championship was a war from the opening bell and had the fans on their feet as Banal and Big Yoo traded devastating punches right up to the end. It was considered one of the best fights this year in the Philippines and a candidate for the local ?Fight of the Year.?
