Pound-for-pound king and ?Fighter of the Decade? Manny Pacquiao says he has no problem if Floyd Mayweather Jr doesn?t sign the contract for a planned November 13 megabuck showdown because there are other fighters eager to face him.
In a conversation with insidesports.ph, Standard Today and Viva Sports, Pacquiao said ?We don?t have a problem if Mayweather doesn?t want to fight me because there are others who are waiting. Actually Bob (Arum) is lining up Antonio Margarito or Miguel Cotto."
At the same time the newly-elected congressman from the lone district of Sarangani province who seems more focused on his foray into politics and public service revealed that he has been busy preparing bills he plans to file in Congress that would redound to the benefit of the poor as well as the nation?s athletes.
Pacquiao told us he had made it clear to the people of his congressional district and even others across the county that he was ?there to help them and will do my best to fulfill my promises during the elections.?
Discussing the future of former two-time world light flyweight champion Brian Viloria whose comeback fight against Omar Soto he watched along with wife Jinkee, Pacquiao said ?if he is comfortable at the higher weight then he can fight but it depends on how his body feels.?
Pacquiao earlier told us he was there to watch Viloria in the Solar Sports promotion at the Ynares Sports Center ?because I want to support Brian Viloria so we will help enhance his strength of will and be strong? especially after what happened in his last fight against Carlos Tamara when he lost the IBF title by a 12th round TKO and had to be rushed to hospital after he collapsed in his dressing room.
Pacquiao said ?we have to help him and help restore his confidence.?
