Filipina-American World Boxing Organization and International Boxing Organization super-bantamweight champion Ana Julaton apologized for her failure to win a third title that would have earned for her the honor of becoming women boxing?s pound-for-pound queen.

The 29-year-old Julaton, fighting out of San Francisco in California, lost a 10-round unanimous decision to Canada-based Lisa ?Bad News? Brown for the World Boxing Association 122-pound belt Saturday (Sunday in Manila).

?I?m sorry that I lost, but I?m happy that women?s boxing is getting the exposure it deserves,? Julaton told mediamen a a post-fight press conference at the Casino Rama in Ontario.

?I fought tonight with a legend of this sport and it was her night. She has been a professional for a decade and I?m happy we put on a show deserving of our sport,? she said in reiterating her obsession ? that of helping women?s boxing take its place in the international sporting scene.

Julaton, likewise, thanked the fight promoter, her fans and supporters, including GMA Pinoy TV and GMA network for believing in her.

? I did my best and would not give up no matter what because that is how I was brought up by my parents and as a Bok Fu Black belt of West Wind Schools we are taught to never back down, she remarked.

?As a Filipino American I believe in making change to help the world become a better place. As a Filipina Woman I know one of my greatest assets is toughness, resilience and a true Pinay never gives up on our goals,? Julaton stressed.

She ended the interview by promising: ? I promise I will be back better than ever.?

The fight titled ?Rumble at ?Rama,? indeed, belonged to women?s boxing as it drew a jam- packed house with the much-publicized fight between Julaton, also popularly known as ?The Hurricane,? Brown who before the bout had already won four belts.

Counting the Filipina?s pair, the confrontation had a total of six belts inside this ring, the most that Casino Rama has had in at one time.

At one time during the fight, predominantly dominated by Brown, Julaton?s corner advised her to discontinue with the fight as both her eyes were blooded, but the Filipina refused.

?This fight is bigger than me winning, it?s about bringing up woman?s boxing. I can?t stop now,? she told her handlers. Even after winning her first title, becoming the first Filipina be crowned a world champion, Julaton was begging for respect and attention to women?s boxing, which she rued as not having the recognition it deserves.

After the ?Rumble,? both women looked to have succeeded in bringing to the boxing?s world attention the flight of distaff fighters.
