The last time Manny Pacquiao fought in May this year, his mother Aleng Dionisia was there for the first time and witnessed her son ruined Englishman Ricky Hatton’s boxing career by taking his junior-welterweight title away via a sensational second round knockout.

A little more than a week from now, when the Filipino boxing icon faces Miguel Cotto for the latter’s World Boxing Organization’s welterweight crown, his father Mang Rosalio probably to watch his son destroy, too, the Puerto Rican belt-holder and become the first man ever to win a seventh world championship in as many division.

Pacquiao himself disclosed in an interview with Boxing Examiner’s Michael Marley Wednesday inside the Wild Car gym’s dressing room in Hollywood where the world’s finest pound-for-pound fighter is capping his fine tuning program.

“My father, Rosalio, is coming to the fight, “ the Pacman assured the reporter. “My mother will be there again. My sister isidra is coming also.”

Pacman’s father, who has along been estranged from the family, works as a farmer, a corn farm overseer, in the family hometown in General Santos City and if plans materialize, his son’s meeting with Cotto November 14 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, will be the first time that he will be seeing him fight big-time in a world arena.

Marley’s interview story did not mention anything about why Mang Rosalio will finally see his son fight for the first time since invading boxing’s capital in the early 90s, but knowing Pacquiao to honor his commitment to his family, it can easily be surmised that it’s his way of showing the world that he also concerns about his dad.

That Wednesday happened to be the Media Day at the coach Freddie Roach-owned Wild Card and among those present, besides Top Rank boss man Bob Arum, were close friends and associates, that included movie acgor Mickey Rourke, who used to train under the Pacman’s chief trainer.

Pacquiao, father of four (two boys and a pair of girls) to beauteous wife Jinkee, talked about a lot of things that Marley couldn’t help but liken him to Mohammad “the Greatest” Ali in terms of charm and mystique

In the manner of the way he fights, Manny said: "I keep my focus. If you have a science test you study science, you don't study math. I am studying only Cotto.“I want the people, the fans to be satisfied, with the fight. I want them to be satisfied with the fight.”

He certainly knows how popular he is world-wide saying, “I have thought about that. I think it’s because I always give it (all praise) to God. It is really amazing. This is all from God. I always thank God for giving me the fame, the wealth, everything.”

Pacquiao acknowledges Cotto’s strength, his left hook and uppercut even admitting tht the Puerto Rican could be one of the strongest opponent he will be opposing.

As to why he has always been at his best, Pacquiao said: “I am hungry because of this, winning seven different titles in seven divisions. I am so proud because I am the first person to do this and I am proud that a Filpino can do this."

He cited though his meeting with legendary Oscar De La Hoya as his greatest.
