Cebu City -- Harvard lawyer and Top Rank president Bob Arum will be a special guest during Pacquiao's conferment of a doctorate degree at Cebu's Southwestern University (SWU) on Feb. 18, this was revealed this afternoon by Pacquiao friend and confidant Rex 'Wakee' Salud during the press conference at the Casino Espanol here tendered by the university to formally announce the event.

According to Salud, Arum, who will arrive in Manila on Feb. 16, was excited to be present at the special occasion where his top fighter and pound for pound king Manny Pacquiao will be honored with the title of Doctor of Human Kinetics. While in Manila, Arum will also do a press conference on the year's biggest fight so far, the Pacquiao-Hatton fight scheduled on May 2 in Las Vegas.

Today's presscon was hosted by SWU president Dr. Eldigario Gonzales who during his speech justified the university's giving the honor to Pacquiao citing the Filipino star's achievement and drive to excellence in the field of human kinetics. Gonzales said Pacquiao will now join other august names that the university had been given doctorate degrees including Senators Ed Angara, Juan Ponce Enrile and Miguel Zubirri, former chief justice Hilario Davide, Jr and long time Cebu governor and now congressman Pablo Garcia, Sr.
