Undefeated Anthony Marcial has stepped up to take the place of injured WBO super bantamweight champion Ciso ?Kid Terrible? Morales in the main event of a fight card titled ?The Heat Is On? at the Talisay Sports Complex in Cebu on Friday, October 3.

The fight card is being staged for the benefit of the Sta. Teresa de Avila Parish by well-known promoter Samy Gello-ani in cooperation with Viva Sports and Tanduay, the No. 1 Rhum.

Morales hurt his right hand while training for his title defense and promoter Sammy Gello-ani was lucky to get Marcial who had been in training, to take on Thailand?s Thong Thai Rajanondh for the WBO Oriental super featherweight interim title.

Marcial is undefeated in 9 fights, winning 8 by knockout in a demonstration of his punching power. In his last fight Marcial scored a first round TKO over journeyman Dondon Lapuz on July 27 in Agoncillo, Batangas.

Rajanondh who has a record of 17-8 with 4 knockouts is coming off a third round TKO loss to hard-hitting Indonesian Daud Cino Yordan on June 16 in Jakarta and is determined to recover from that setback.

In a bout that could steal the thunder from the main event undefeated Jonreil Casimiro of the Omega Boxing Gym battles Thailand?s Liempetch Sor Veerapol for the WBO Asia Pacific vacant junior flyweight title.

Veerapol has a record of 10-3 with 7 knockouts and is coming off a second round knockout over Deepitak Lookpatompong last August 29 while Casimiro parades a card of 10 wins with 5 knockout. In his last fight on August 23 Casimiro won a unanimous decision over Rodel Quilaton.

In an exciting match-up of junior lightweights Rey Labao of the Dante Ortiz boxing stable of Las Vegas clashes with Amor Tino who scored an impressive decision over Roland Teofilo last September 14. Tino has a record of 9-4-1 with 3 knockouts while Labao who won by a 2nd round knockout over Den Bermudez last July 27 has a record of 16-1 with 11 knockouts.

Spicing up the Talisay fight card will be promising South Korean flyweight Jonghwa Lee who is undefeated with a record of 7-0-1 with 1 knockout. An excellent boxer Lee faces Erwin Pulvera whose record is 2-2-1 with 1 knockout.

In other bouts undefeated featherweight Elf Gitgano (4-0-1, 2 KO?s) meets Darryl Pucdol (8-2, 4 KO?s), junior flyweight Jheter Oliva takes on Jerome Buntog and super bantamweight Richie Abapo clashes with Ariong Rama.
