ARUM SAYS PACQUIAO MUST ATTACK, ATTACK, ATTACK

Astute Top Rank promoter Bob Arum may not be Filipino ring idol Manny Pacquiao?s trainer but he does have his own ideas on how Pacquiao should battle Oscar De La Hoya in their ?Dream Match? on December 6.

In an overseas telephone conversation with www.insidesports.ph, Manila Standard and Viva Sports, Arum said Pacquiao ?can?t hang around out there. He has to attack, attack, attack and get out.?

At the same time Arum said that while moving in and out quickly, Pacquiao must also ?fire his shots from different angles.?

He said Pacquiao has to fight ?a very spirited but intelligent fight? which is what celebrated trainer Freddie Roach is planning. Roach has anchored his confidence on the speed of Pacquiao and his ability to carry his power up to 147 pounds against a slower De La Hoya who he believes, ?can?t pull the trigger.?

Arum said he was pleased that Pacquiao reported to the Wild Card Gym as early as last September 15 and said ?he is very serious.? Arum made it clear that this is a ?major effort on his (Manny?s) part but added ?I am very confident about the result. He believes it can be done. A lot of my people believe that it can be done. And, it can be done.?
