IBF/IBO flyweight champion Nonito ?The Filipino Flash? Donaire is eager to get it on after eleven months of inactivity and says he is ?looking forward to this fight and want to definitely make a good impression.?

The fight Donaire was talking about in an overseas telephone conversation with www.insidesports.ph, Manila Standard and Viva Sports is his second title defense against mandatory challenger Moruti ?Babyface? Mthalane of South Africa at the Mandalay Bay Resort Hotel and Casino on November 1.

Mthalane 22-1, 15 KO?s) earned the title shot by scoring a lopsided twelve round decision over Hussein Hussein of Australia last July 5 in South Africa with two judges scoring the fight for Mthalane by a margin of 118-110 and the third judge by an even wider 119-109.

Donaire said he is looking forward to moving up to super flyweight and while Vic Darchinyan has been bragging about avenging his fifth round KO loss to Donaire on July 7 last year, the 25 year old Filipino said ?it doesn?t matter who it is. For me, I wanted this fight with Darchinyan but they were asking for too much money.?

Darchinyan is handled by Gary Shaw who was also Donaire?s promoter but some months ago released him to Top Rank promoter Bob Arum.

He said ?whoever they want to put in front of me, I don?t mind. I am excited whoever it is. As long as I get in that ring and do my damage.?

Donaire has had only one title defense so far, scoring an impressive eighth round TKO over Mexico?s Luis Maldonado last December 1 which explains his eagerness to enter the ring.

Donaire who is training at the Top Rank Gym in Las Vegas said he is working out with a former Filipino amateur fighter who wants to turn pro.

Nonito Donaire Sr, father and trainer identified the amateur as Adam Fiel who lost to a Mongolian fighter in one of the eliminations apparently for the Beijing Olympics. Nonito Sr said his son sparred with a Mexican fighter who approximated the style of Mthalane but couldn?t remember his name. He said it was a good workout and Nonito ?figured out the guy right away.?

Donaire the trainer said he had watched tapes of three of Mthalane?s fights and said he ?just keeps coming forward.?
