WBO super flyweight champion Fernando Montiel has offered Z ?The Dream? Gorres a rematch.
www.insidesports.ph has learned that the rematch offer was made by international matchmaker Sampson Lewkowicz and coursed to the Gorres handlers led by the respected father-and-son team of Tony and Michael Aldeguer of the famed ALA Gym.
We also understand that the handlers would meet this afternoon to study the offer for the rematch which will be part of the big Top Rank fight card at the plush Venetian in Macau which will also feature IBF flyweight champion Nonito ?The Filipino Flash? Donaire in a mandatory title defense against South Africa?s Moruti Mthalane.
Top Rank promoter Bob Arum himself told us some time ago that Jorge Arce would also see action on the same card on October 11 as well as North American Boxing Federation super bantamweight champion Bernabe Concepcion.
Montiel won a controversial split decision over Gorres to retain his title in March last year in Cebu.
