The camp of Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao has presented a counter-proposal to Top Rank promoter Bob Arum for transmittal to Golden Boy Promotions regarding a much-talked-about fight against Oscar De La Hoya on December 6.

Pacquiao?s business manager Eric Pineda who returned to Los Angeles from Las Vegas along with Pacquiao and his family told www.insidesports.ph that the talks were ?still on-going? and they had come up with a counter-proposal to the initial proposal from Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer.

Arum earlier confirmed he had received a proposal from Schaefer which he discussed with Pacquiao and his lawyer Franklin "Jeng" Gacal in Las Vegas the other day. The Schaefer proposal was submitted to Arum prior to the Golden Boy Promotions CEO leaving on an European vacation from which he returned last July 30.

Pineda said ?we came out with what we want? which basically meant ?just a matter of getting some of the numbers right.? He stressed that there was ?not really? any major issues that need to be overcome and that ?as far as we are concerned chances of the fight happening are around seventy percent.?

In a seperate interview Pacquiao adviser Michael Koncz said "everything's under discussion and we'll see what happens." He said Arum was "doing his job appropriately and has laid everything out and we are working as a team."

Pineda said he will return to Manila on Tuesday to finalize the travel arrangements for Pacquiao?s trip to Beijing where he will be the Philippines flag-bearer in the colorful Olympic Games opening ceremony on August 8. Pacquiao, his charming wife Jinkee and their three kids are scheduled to arrive in Manila on Wednesday.

Pineda said Pacquiao and his family were having a wonderful time together ?without too many people around him? and that they were returning to Pacquiao?s apartment after going to the Mall.

Pineda said Pacquiao was clearly enjoying ?the rare moments being himself? as a husband and father.
