One of Australia's top boxing show TV hosts and former ?Promoter of the Year? Peter Maniatis is in Cebu City and has begun shooting a documentary on the famed ALA Gym for his popular TV boxing show in Australia.

Peter Maniatis visited the ALA Gym which is owned by respected boxing patron Tony Aldeguer and began shooting his documentary on Monday. Maniatis said he will shoot for three days and will also include footage of the buildup to the WBA super flyweight title fight between AJ ?Bazooka? Banal, one of the prized possessions of the ALA Gym and Panama's hard-hitting Rafael ?El Torito? Concepcion.

The world title fight will take place at the Cebu Coliseum on Saturday and will be telecast by the giant broadcast network ABS-CBN ?live? over Studio 23 at 7:30 p.m.with a replay on Sunday at 9:45 a.m. over the pre-eminent Channel 2.

Maniatis is a prominent promoter in Australia and very often some of the best Filipino fighters from the Dido Bohol stable appear on his fight cards.

He has been pushing for evenly matched bouts and a better deal for Filipino boxers seeing action in Australia and is striving to also bring Australian fighters to showcase their talents in the Philippines.

Celebrated trainer Freddie Roach who visited the ALA Gym was very impressed with its facilities and layout saying ?it's one of the best gyms in the world.?

In fact several foreign fighters including Japanese flyweight champion Daisuke Naito and former South Korean featherweight champion Injin Chi have also trained and others have trained regularly at the ALA Gym because of the additional advantage of a roster of great sparring partners.
