Chess Kings rules Pacquiao rapid chess team tournament

MANILA – Team Chess Kings, led by Cyrus Vladmir Francisco, ruled the Manny Pacquiao Chess Philippines 3x3 chess team tournament at the LICA Mall, 500 Shaw Blvd., Mandaluyong City on Sunday, July 12, 2026.
Vincent Ryu Dimayuga and John Randall Peralta are the other members of the team coached by CK Ingles.
Team Chess Kings finished with 16.0 points and received PHP33,000 plus trophy and medals.
Team Chess Kings beat Matador, 3-0, (1st round); En Passant, 3-0, (3rd);Team Red Horses, 2-1, (4th); CK Ingles Eagles, 3-0, (5th); and Chess Matek, 2-1, (6th).
They split the points with Tira Tira Sasotize Kwatro,1.5-1.5, (2nd) and Tall Dark Helicopter, 1.5-1.5, (7th).
Francisco, a student of University of the Philippines, tallied 5.0 points in Board 1, Dimayuga garnered 6.5 points in Board 2, and Peralta secured 4.5 points in Board 3
" It's truly a team effort," said CK Ingles, who is set to organize a chess team tournament on August 2,2026 at Farmers Plaza, Araneta Center in Cubao, Quezon City.
A descendant of the esteemed Ambassador Jose D. Ingles - the longest-serving Undersecretary of the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) - CK Ingles carries forward a heritage defined by leadership and distinction.
Lindenatics, composed of Michael Linde, King Xyan Beltran, and Steve Nitafan, placed second while Team Tarubas was spearheaded by Mark Gerald Reyes, Daniel Baylosis and Leonel Escote was third.
Team Dark Helicopter ranked fourth followed by Tira Tira Sasotize Dos (fifth), Top Secret (sixth), Chess Matek (seventh), Benilde Blazers (eight), CK Ingles Eagles (ninth), and Motu Propio (tenth).
Adjudged categories winners were top 1900 (Team Ron), Top 1850 (Zwishchenzug Adepts), Top Lady (Santa Rosa), Top Board 1 (IM Jan Emmanuel Garcia, Santa Rosa City Chess Team), Top Board 2 (Vincent Ryu Dimayuga (Chess Kings) and Top Board 3 Herson Bangay (Stratix).
This exciting team event features a 1925 Average FIDE Rating format and is jointly organized by tournament heads John Salcedo, Jonas Silvano and Kalaro Founder/CEO Jun Lasco Jr., with backing from former Senator Manny Pacquiao , National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) Chairman/ President Cong.
