Dela Peña stops Delos Santos, now ready for Slugfest

RB Jean Dela Peña of Nabunturan throw countless punches and kicks to stop Bianca Delos Santos of SOS in the 3rd round of The Sandbox 3 held last night, June 28 at the Harana Surf Resort in Siargao Island.
The 17-year-old Dela Peña from the Billones MuayThai Camp landed a right punch that sent down Delos Santos in the 1st round.
But it was not counted as Dela Peña was also down due to slip.
In the second round, Dela Peña connected her punches mostly on the face against Delos Santos.
The 37-year-old Delos Santos, who is from Los Angeles, California tried to hit Dela Peña but was quickly easily blocked.
In the 3rd round, Dela Peña pummeled Delos Santos with a right cross to finally stop the fight at 2:23.
It was Dela Peña’s debut as a MuayThai player.
“The fight is finally over, and thank God — I won!” said Dela Peña.
“I gave my full strength, focus and heart in every round. It wasn’t easy, but I stayed calm and followed my plan,” added Dela Peña.
Meanwhile, Dela Peña’s teammate Noel Rosales beat John Rey Sigod of Outcast MuayThai Camp-Malaybalay City.
“Now I rest a bit, then prepare again for my next challenge in Koronadal City between Duran,” said Dela Peña.
Dela Peña, who has a 5-1 record in amateur MuayThai, will next face Johnnyza Duran of Davao City in the 4th Gov. RST Mixed Martial Arts Slugfest on July 3, Friday at the South Cotabato Gym and Cultural Center.
Dela Peña was the 2023 MuayThai National gold medalist and 2023 Muaythai Batang Pinoy gold medalist.
