
USA Boxing Elite High Performance Squad Adds Seven Wins on Day Four at 2026 Copa America

GIRARDOT, Colombia (May 21, 2026) – USA Boxing’s Elite High Performance Squad continues its impressive run at the 2026 Copa America as the Stars and Stripes secured seven more wins, improving to a dominant 34-5 record through four days of competition.
The United States 2024 Paris Olympian, Jennifer Lozano (51 kilograms), got things started on day four, as the Texas native earned her third RSC victory of the event and improved her record to 3-0. Lozano won by RSC in the second round over Gina Alvarez and will box Thursday against Indrid Caicedo in Bout 8 at approximately 4:45 p.m. ET.
Following Lozano, Deborah Grant (57 kilograms) returned to the ring and secured her third win of the event. Grant earned her second 5-0 unanimous decision victory in Colombia after she defeated Angie Biojo on Wednesday. She now has a 3-1 record at the 2026 Copa America event.
On the men’s team, Moises Rodriguez (55 kilograms) secured his third victory of the event, and his second unanimous decision win in Colombia. The Texas native improves to 3-0 at the 2026 Copa America after his 5-0 win over Luis David Castillo. Rodriguez will return to action on Thursday, facing Carlos Hurtado in Bout 11 at approximately 5:30 p.m. ET.
Dustin Jimenez (65 kilograms) followed Rodriguez, and the New York native secured his fourth win in four days. Jimenez improves his record to a dominant 4-0 after winning by a 5-0 unanimous decision over Luis Bonolis. He will enter the ring on day five against Gregory Bueno on Thursday in Bout 13 at approximately 6:00 p.m. ET.
USA Boxing’s Elite High Performance Squad saw its two super heavyweights square off this afternoon as Gilbert Kabamba (90+ kilograms) and Nnajai Wright (90+ kilograms) went three rounds of Olympic-style boxing. Kabamba edged Wright 3-2 in the opening round and also took the final two rounds to secure a 5-0 unanimous decision victory. Both boxers are off on Thursday.
Earning victories by walkover on Wednesday were the two New Jersey natives, Tyric Trapp (80 kilograms) and Malachi Georges (90 kilograms). Both boxers are scheduled to enter the ring on Thursday, with Trapp facing Noel Pacheco in Bout 15 at approximately 6:30 p.m. ET and Georges facing Juan Mausa in Bout 16 at approximately 6:45 p.m. ET.
The Stars and Stripes were also represented by Alexis Proctor (60 kilograms) on Wednesday. Proctor went the distance and kept the bout close but ultimately fell in a tight 3-2 split decision against Maria Chiro. Proctor will be off on day five and return later in the week. Kentrell Rouser (70 kilograms) also suffered a loss via walkover on Wednesday. Rouser is now 3-1 in the event and is scheduled to face Juan Diego Bandera on Thursday in Bout 14 at approximately 6:15 p.m. ET.
The USA Boxing Elite High Performance Squad will have nine boxers enter the ring on Thursday, May 21, including Kendra Samargis, who will make her international and 2026 Copa America event debut. Samargis will face Daniela Pachon on Thursday in Bout 10 at approximately 5:15 p.m. ET.
The United States will also see Jayshannet Zapata (54 kilograms) and Yahir Diaz-Martinez (60 kilograms) return to the ring on Thursday. Zapata is scheduled to face Estefani Almanza on Thursday in Bout 9 at approximately 5:00 p.m. ET, and Diaz-Martinez will square off with Disney Ezequiel Medina in Bout 12 at approximately 5:45 p.m. ET.
Throughout the competition at the 2026 Copa America, the United States will be led by USA Boxing National Development Coach Edward Fonteneaux (Fayetteville, N.C.), with assistance from Alex Love (Colorado Springs, Colo.), Billy Rafalko (Philadelphia, Pa.), and Jeffrey Nimo (Grand Prairie, Texas).
