
“The Boss” Mig is PBO president

JUAN Miguel “The Boss Mig” Elorde of Paranaque City is the president of the newest boxing group Philippine Boxing Organization [PBO].
Juan Miguel or Mig is the son of Johnny and Liza Elorde. Mig is the grandson of the late Gabriel "Flash" Elorde, considered one of the best Filipino boxers of all time.
PBO will be awarding its first title belt on April 30, Thursday at the Okada Manila Hotel and Casino in Paranaque City.
The inaugural fight will be PBO super flyweight title fight between Giemel “Pistolero” Magramo of Paranaque City and Marco John “Merciless” Rementizo of Cagayan de Oro City.
A live boxing card will start at 2 p.m.
Mig, who is also a professional super bantamweight boxer since 2008, has not fought since 2023. He has a record of 29 wins with 15 knockouts and 3 losses.
In his last bout, Mig lost to Sam Goodman of Australia by an 8th round technical knockout for the IBF Inter-Continental and WBO Oriental super bantamweight titles last July 20, 2022 at Hordern Pavilion in Sydney, Australia.
Mig earlier beat Aroel Romasasa of General Santos City by a unanimous decision last October 23, 2021 at The Flash Grand Ballroom of the Elorde Sports Complex in Paranaque City.
But Mig also bowed to reigning WBO World super bantamweight champion Emanuel Navarrete of Mexico in the 4th round by a TKO last September 14, 2019 at the T-Mobile Area in Las Vegas.
Mig earlier retained his WBO Asia Pacific super bantamweight title by outclassing Shohei Kawashima of Japan last March 3. 2019 at the Okada Manila Hotel and Casino in Paranaque.
PBO is dedicated to the growth, development, and promotion of the sport across all levels—from grassroots to elite competition.
The event is the “Blow by Blow” by 8-division world champion Manny Pacquiao of MP Promotions and the honorary Chairman of PBO.
It is a collaboration between Pacquiao and the Elorde Family. Matchmaker is Art Monis.
It will also be the third Pacquiao-Elorde Awards Banquet of Champions after the boxing event.
