Sem Japet Enano Stuns Hometown Favorite Tyrell Adams to Claim IBO Oceania Featherweight Title

Sydney, Australia — In a stunning upset, Sem Japet Enano shocked the hometown crowd by beating previously unbeaten Tyrell Adams to win the IBO Oceania featherweight title on Wednesday, April 8. The bout took place in Sydney, Australia and all three judges scored the fight 80-72 in favor of Enano, delivering a clear shutout victory.
Enano improved to 8 wins and 2 losses, while Adams dropped to 6 wins and 1 loss. The victory was Enano’s first regional title win and his first victory overseas in his young boxing career.
Enano pressured Adams throughout the entire fight, landing right hands to both the body and the head. Adams tried to fight back in the seventh round, but Enano never stopped punching and pressing the action. In a post-fight statement, Enano said he wanted to dedicate the win to his family and his Sanman Boxing team. He emphasized his commitment to continuing hard work and becoming a world champion one day.
