Former ALA star “Prince” Albert Pagara has got a golden ticket to Australia for an Australasian title fight that could put his career back on track.
The popular and sometimes controversial Pagara (37-2, 26 KOs) has signed to fight undefeated Aussie Billy Polkinghorn (5-0, 2 KOs) of Perth for the vacant WBC Australasia Lightweight title on March 7 at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.
After a tough setback in Russia, followed by two consecutive stay-busy wins in Thailand, the Maasin-native is eager to try his luck in “The Land Down Under,” aiming to score a win that will put him back in the radar.

With roughly two weeks until fight night, “Prince” Albert Pagara is sweating hard at Brico Santig’s Highland Boxing Gym in Bangkok, Thailand.
From there, “Prince” will fly to Perth with the word “Victory” on his mind.
Once one of the most popular attractions in Cebu’s boxing scene, the 32-year-old Pagara is focused on reviving his career, and with God’s help, he wants to succeed.
Can “Prince” Albert Pagara make weight while keeping his strength to demolish his less-experienced opponent for a fantastic title triumph in Perth?
His many fans in Cebu and elsewhere say yes, and his former manager/promoter Don Antonio L. Aldeguer, founder of the legendary ALA Promotions, is wishing him all the best.
“I love Don Antonio like a second father. His good luck wishes mean so much to me. I feel inspired, wanting to get this win.”
Pagara’s WBC Australasia Lightweight (135-pound) title fight against the 29-year-old Billy Polkinghorn is promoted by Australia’s Pathway Promotions.
Philboxing wishes the best of luck to Pagara and his team, Laban Pinoy! 🇵🇭👍 🥊
