
Tadlas, Busayong rule 42K in 3rd SDSPPO Run for a Cause

SURIGAO del Sur – Rosalyn Tadlas of Bukidnon retained her title in the women’s division while Ronnerick Busayong of Agusan del Norte put up a hard fight in the men’s division in the 3rd SDSPPO TWG-PAGPTD Run for a Cause 42-kilometer held last November 22, Saturday at the VIP Boulevard in Tandag City.
“I had a chance to break away at the turning point at 42k,” said Tadlas.
Tadlas, who made the break at Barangay Sumo-sumo in Tago, clocked at three hours, 19 minutes and 34 seconds.
Second was Yacharah Daliglig at 3:30:33 followed by Julieta Daya [4:28:50].
Tadlas pocketed P20,000 while Daligdig and Day got P15,000 and P10,000, respectively.
The 4th to 10th placers, who each received P1,500 were Vianney Anino [4;32:40], Kathyn Joy Objuia [4:52:09], Ronalyn Laro [5:12:09], Glysa Morilla [5:18:59], Angel Martinez [5;26:17], Leah Ropin [5;35:52] and Merybeth Maitum [5:36:51].
Busayong, on the other hand, fought a hard fight in the men’s division against Francisco Padayogdog Jr. of Cagayan de Oro in the last minute.
“I made a discard to have a strong last minute win,” said Busayong.
Busayong made a strong run in the last minute for a 2:45:23, which is only 34 seconds ahead against Padayogdog [2:45:57].
Third was Jarom Montenegro of Valencia City at 3:15:11.
The 4th to 10th placers were Henry Valencia [3:15:16], Jimcris Parean [3:17:18], Aaron Lynca Sacal [3:38:59], James Steveson Morilla [3:39:55], Kent Bautista [3:43:28], Juan Paolo Espenaza [3:43:55] and Felant Morado [3:49:23].
“More than 1,000 runners participated in this year’s race,” said race director Roel Amabao-Ano of BBG Run Events.
The event, dubbed as “3rd SDSPPO TWG-PAGTD Run for a Cause 2025”, was organized by the Surigao del Sur Police Provincial Office headed by Police Col. Jeffrey Lawrence Mauricio.
“Running and walking bring change,” said Mauricio.
