Following his spectacular victory in the rematch against Chris Eubank Jr. last Saturday night at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, in front of some 60,000 fans, the winner, Conor Benn, has stated his intention to return to his natural weight of 147 pounds and secure a shot at the WBC welterweight world championship against champion Mario Barrios in 2026.

“This victory meant a lot to me after what many believe is a family feud, but it's just another chapter in the history of British boxing. What I dream of is winning the WBC world championship with all my heart and soul. A WBC world championship, just like my father's, will be the most special moment of our lives,” said Benn.

Benn and his trainer, Tony Sims, now begin a new chapter in his career, both inside and outside the ring, with greater discipline, learning, responsibility, strategy, and emotional control.

“I defeated myself, and although money is important in all sports, what really matters to me is winning that WBC championship and achieving my goal. That's why a third fight isn't a priority for me right now,” Benn concluded.
