Filipino boxing icon and eight-division world champion Manny "PacMan" Pacquiao arrived in Los Angeles late Friday night, November 8, in advance of his son's professional boxing debut later this month.
Pacquiao, who is promoting the event, is in the U.S. to attend the professional launch of his son, Emmanuel "Jimuel" Pacquiao Jr., who is scheduled to fight on November 29.
The bout is part of an inaugural U.S. promotion for Manny Pacquiao’s MP Promotions company, which will take place in Temecula, California.
While Jimuel has gained significant attention through his extensive amateur career and exhibition bouts, the November 29 fight will mark his official entry into the professional ranks. Jimuel is expected to face an opponent in the lightweight division (135 lbs).

Manny Pacquiao’s presence in Los Angeles underscores the importance of the event, both for his family and for his fledgling promotional company. As a Hall of Fame fighter and the greatest Filipino boxer of all time, the elder Pacquiao's involvement ensures a massive spotlight on Jimuel’s first professional outing.

Jimuel (L) trains with his father Manny Pacquiao.
Jimuel Pacquiao Jr. has been training diligently in the United States for several months, preparing for the transition from the amateur to the professional circuit. The young fighter has been praised by trainers for his dedication and work ethic, often echoing the famous discipline of his legendary father.
While Jimuel is determined to forge his own path in the sport, all eyes will be watching how the second-generation boxer handles the pressure of his debut, with his father watching ringside as both a promoter and a proud parent.
The fight is expected to serve as a key element of the card, which will be headlined by other fighters under the MP Promotions banner.
