It has been revealed that undefeated five-division world champion and American boxing star Claressa Shields, 30, has signed a major multi-year worth $8 million contract with Salita Promotions and Wynn Records.

This agreement could be considered the most significant contract in the history of women's boxing.

Shields defeated Danielle Perkins last February to become the first undisputed WBC, IBF, WBO, and WBA women's heavyweight world champion.

The two-time Olympic gold medalist in the middleweight division at London 2012 and Rio 2016 has consistently advocated for better pay for women's boxing.
