MINIMUMWEIGHT Joey “The Babyface” Canoy of General Santos City has cancelled his title-fight due to the untimely death of his second baby last week in Gensan.

The 32-year-old Canoy [24-5-2, 15KOs] has scrapped his fight against International Boxing Federation [IBF] International minimumweight champion Beaven “The One” Sibanda of Zimbabwe on October 4 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Canoy’s second daughter Chelsea, 3 years old, succumbed to heart failure last September 8. She will be buried at Monte Cielo Cemetery on Monday, September 15.

“Right now, I don't know when I will return to training. Maybe after one month,” said Canoy.

Canoy’s wife is Mary Grace Ladres.

Canoy was already training at the Sanman Gym in Gensan with his trainer Markquil Salvana.
