Laurente is new Philippine super featherweight champ

JONNIEL “The Gentle Assassin” Laurente of Paranaque City is now the new Philippine super featherweight champion.

The 24-year-old Laurente defeated Jhon “Disaster” Gemino by a unanimous decision last Saturday, September 6 in Ilagan.

Laurente now has 12 wins with five knockouts, three loses and one draw while the 33-year-old Gemino suffered his 20th loss against 25 wins and one draw.

Meanwhile, Wesley “The Bomber” Caga [7-2-0, 3KOs] knocked out Ricky Cajutol [6-3-0, 1KO] of Agusan del Sur in the first round to win the World Boxing Federation Silver bantamweight in a supporting match.
