Traya eyes KO win against Thai tomorrow

ELMO “Money Punch” Traya of Cebu will fight Chaiwat Muenphong of Thailand tomorrow, August 30 for the vacant ABF Super Welterweight title at 10-rounds at the World Siam Stadium in Bangkok.

“I will try to win by knockout,” said the 30-year-old Traya [15-5-0, 10KOs].

Traya weighs 72kg. which is just right.

“My opponent weighs 74.1kg. He is overweight,” said Traya, who is with his trainer Aljohn Alegria.

The fight is dubbed as the “Battle of Bangkok –championship boxing at its Finest!”.

“I think this fight is very important. That's why I will do everything I can for you to win this fight,” said Traya.

Traya recently knocked out Sitthidet Banti in the 1st round last April 24, 2025 at the World Siam Stadium.

The 39-year-old Mueanphong [12-7-1, 9KOs], on the other hand, stopped Amir Vahhabiamalakshah by a 2nd round technical knockout last June 8 at Pathum Thani.

Meanwhile, undefeated Usman “Asian Boy” Wazeer [16-0-0, 11KOs] of Pakistan seeks his 17th win against Stevie Ongen “Wonder” Ferdinandus [36-18-1, 19KOs] of Indonesia for the Orient and Pacific Boxing Federation Silver super welterweight title in the main event.

The 25-year-old Wazeer recently knocked out Eswara S last April 24 at World Siam Stadium in Bangkok, while Amit downed Sablan Coral in the 4th round via technical decision last February 23 in Jakarta.

The other title-bout will feature Alessio “The Hammer” Bisutti [13-1-0, 12KOs] of Italy against Panya Chomphoophuang [23-16-1, 13KOs] of Thailand for the Universal Boxing Organization World heavyweight title.

Kritiphak Duangnut [9-5-0, 3KOs] of Thailand will stake his ABF featherweight title against unbeaten Hazman Iskandar Zulkifli ‘The Zombie” Siew [4-0-0, 3KOs] of Malaysia in 10-rounds.

Supanat Chanram and Brico Santig of Highland Boxing Team are the promoters.
