Both champions, along with every fighter on the undercard, successfully made weight today at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas, setting the stage for a thrilling night of boxing live worldwide on DAZN.
In the main event, defending WBC, WBO, and Ring Magazine World Super-Flyweight Champion Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez (San Antonio, Texas) looked sharp and confident, weighing in at 114.8 lbs. His unified opponent, Phumelela Cafu (Eastern Cape, South Africa), also hit the championship mark precisely at 115 lbs. The unified bout promises to deliver fireworks as two of the division's best look to consolidate their reign.
The co-main event features a compelling super-middleweight clash for the USWBC and WBO International titles, with rising star Diego Pacheco (South Central LA, California) tipping the scales at 168 lbs. His opponent, Trevor McCumby (Glendale, Arizona), matched him at 168 lbs, ensuring a hard-hitting contest at the super-middleweight limit.
The undercard is also stacked with intriguing matchups, all of whom successfully made weight:
In a 10-round middleweight contest, Austin Williams (Houston, Texas) weighed 158.4 lbs, facing Ivan Vazquez (Houston, Texas/Monterrey, Mexico) who came in at 159.6 lbs.
Kicking off the DAZN main broadcast, Omari Jones (Orlando, Florida) weighed 149.4 lbs for his 6-round junior-middleweight bout against Alfredo Rodolfo Blanco (Buenos Aires, Argentina) at 150.2 lbs.
The prelims, which will be streamed live on Matchroom Boxing's YouTube channel, include junior-middleweight action: Pablo Valdez (New York, New York) at 156 lbs vs. Robert Redmond Jr. (Houston, Texas) at 154.2 lbs in an 8-round contest; Nishant Dev (Karmal, India) at 155.8 lbs vs. LaQuan Evans (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) at 156.2 lbs in a 6-round bout; and Hector Beltran Jr. (Dallas, Texas) at 154 lbs vs. Edgar Gutierrez (Yuma, Arizona) at 153.4 lbs in a 4-round contest.
With the weigh-ins concluded without a hitch, the stage is now perfectly set for a thrilling night of boxing at the Ford Center at The Star. Doors open at 3:30 PM local time, with action beginning at 4:00 PM.
