FORMER World Boxing Council Asian lightweight champion Adones Cabalquinto of Davao City was stopped in the 4th round by Aussie Qamil “Golden Boy” Balla last night, June 13 at the Q Room Thomastown in Australia.

The fight was surprisingly stopped by the referee. Cabalquinto and even Balla both still wanted to fight.

The first three rounds saw the two boxers trying to land a solid punch. Cabalquinto threw more punches than Balla in the 3rd round.

In the 4th round, Cabalquinto tried to land again a right but Balla answered with his own left-right punches.

This saw the referee stopped the fight.

The 36-year-old Cabalquinto complained to the referee while Balla also reacted.

It was the 6th loss by Adones against 26 wins while Balla improved his record by 16 wins with nine knockouts, two loses and one draw.

The fight dubbed as “No Way Out” was promoted by Peter Maniatis of PM Events.
