
Cabalquinto to fight in Australia on June 13

FORMER World Boxing Council Asian lightweight champion Adones Cabalquinto of Davao City will fight again in Australia on June 13 at the Q Room Thomastown.
The 36-year-old southpaw [26-5-0, 16KOs] will face Qamil “Golden Boy” Balla [15-2-1, 8KOs] of Altona North, Victoria.
Cabalquinto recently fought but lost to Aussie Victor Nagbe for the WBC Asian super welterweight championship last April 11, 2025 at The Melbourne Pavillon in Flemington, Australia.
Cabalquinto last won against Jose Ocampo of Sarangani by a unanimous decision last August 26, 2024 at Almendras Gym in Davao.
Balla, 35, on the other hand, previously lost to Jin Sasaki of Japan by a 7th round technical knockout for the Orient and Pacific Boxing Federation and WBO Asian Pacific welterweight titles at the Ariake Arena in Koto-Ku.
The fight dubbed as “No Way Out” is promoted by Peter Maniatis of PM Events.
