ROXAS CITY— Filipino International Master (IM) Ronald Dableo, a highly respected figure in the Philippine chess scene, has registered early for the 4th edition of the Touchmove Invitational Open Rapid Chess Tournament. This event is set to take place on August 24, 2025, at the atrium of SM City Mall in Roxas City.
Dableo currently ranks 11th among active chess players in the Philippines and will compete against 127 other participants for the Touchmove chess title in the 4th edition of the tournament.
The competition will feature a time control of 15 minutes, with an additional 3-second increment, on a seven-round Swiss System format, all taking place within a single day.
"I hope to do well in this event," said Dableo, who finished second at the Sydney International Open 2025 Standard chess tournament held April 23 to 27, 2025, at the Novotel West HQ, Conference Room in Sydney, Australia.
The Sampaloc, Manila-based Dableo improved his performance after finishing in 3rd place in the blitz chess tournament earlier.-Marlon Bernardino-
