Below are the weighin results and press conference quotes for tomorrow's rematch between Mexico's Manuel Gallegos and New Jersey's Khalil Coe at the Domo Alcalde in Guadalajara, Mexico promoted by Matchroom and to be streamed live on DAZN.

The Official Weights:

In the main event, both Manuel Gallegos (Sinaloa, Mexico) and Khalil Coe (Jersey City, New Jersey) weighed in perfectly at 173lbs for their 10-round battle for the USWBC Light-Heavyweight title. The identical weights set the stage for what is expected to be a fiercely contested bout between two powerful punchers.

The co-feature will see a 10-round super-lightweight contest featuring local favorite Gabriel Gollaz Valenzuela (Guadalajara, Mexico) and Manuel Medina (Jalisco, Mexico), both hitting the mark at 141lbs.

Earlier in the evening, former unified champion Murodjon Akhmadaliev (Chust, Uzbekistan) weighed in at 122lbs for his 10-round super-bantamweight contest against Luis Castillo (Jiquipilco, Mexico), who came in at 120lbs.

Kicking off the main card will be a 10-round super-flyweight contest between Adrian Curiel (Mexico City, Mexico), who weighed 119lbs, and Johan Rubio (Guadalajara, Mexico), who tipped the scales at 115lbs.

PRESS CONFERENCE QUOTES

FRANK SMITH

Before we start, we have to say big congratulations to Eduardo ‘Sugar’ Nunez, the latest Mexican champion of the world. He’s been on the road firstly to Tajikistan and now to Japan to go and our next plan is to bring him back home to Mexico. It’s a brilliant achievement and we’re looking forward to more big nights with Sugar.

It’s always great to do these events in Mexico, we’ve been lucky enough over the last six years to stage lots of events in Mexico and they are some of the best shows we do. It’s our pleasure to be in Guadalajara and a huge thank you to all of our partners in this event as we head into Friday night, and a night that will deliver amazing entertainment as always.

MJ gets his opportunity in September to finally fight Inoue after waiting a long, long time for it. He’s a former unified World champion, he’s worked hard to get back into that position but on Friday, he cannot look past his opponent. Sometimes it’s difficult to be driven for these fights when you see what you have in the future, so for MJ he’s a pro and he knows he needs to be focused, get the job done and set himself to become undisputed against Inoue in Japan.

The main event, what a fight. You don’t see this that often in boxing where fighters jump straight back in there, so we have to show respect to both men. It was a great fight first time around and so often in the sport fights aren’t made. Khalil knows he’s got to go in there and win, but Manuel is going to have the confidence from the first fight. One thing from the first fight is that Khalil did not stop, even through the tough moments, and the first round of this fight will follow on from the ninth round of the first fight. Both guys are well prepared, they’ll be better than they were last time, and they know what the other man brings, so we’re excited, so don’t miss it live on DAZN.

MANUEL GALLEGOS

I really wanted this rematch as I think it is really important for us to show very clearly what we are able to do, so we’re delighted that we have this opportunity once again and I believe we’re going to show what we are made of.

I’m really happy that the rematch is in Mexico, I’ll have the support of the people here. It’s not taking place in Sinaloa, but I’m sure Guadalajara will be behind me. I’m really motivated to get my hand raised and the fact that we have Mexico behind me means we’ll be giving even more to go and get the victory.

KHALIL COE

I want to thank Manuel Gallegos for accepting the rematch and giving me the opportunity to win the belt back. We have made adjustments in camp, and I feel strong, I feel amazing honestly and I can’t wait to show the difference on Friday night.

Fighting in Mexico is fuel to me, I’ve been traveling all over the world in my career and fighting in different countries, and Friday will be no different.

This is a must-win for me. He’s a great opponent and in order for me to move forward I have to have that notch on my belt and beat the best opponents.

MURODJON AKHMADALIEV

I’m really happy to be here in Guadalajara and I’m ready to fight. Uzbek power is coming.

LUIS CASTILLO

I’ve not been resting since my last fight. I may not have had official fights, but I’ve been working hard in the gym and on my boxing. I have no fear in facing Akhmadaliev.

GABRIEL GOLLAZ VALENZUELA

It was a great experience I had against a really great fighter in Subriel Matias. I think I showed that I am made for that level. It was a final eliminator, and we showed that we are ready for that level and it’s a great sign in the way that we fought in that fight, and we want to get back to that again on that path to a World title.

We’ve worked really hard throughout this camp, I never underestimate any opponent, and we have not cut any corners whatsoever in our preparation. I learnt a great deal from the fight with Matias, and we’ve modified various things. I am coming into the fight with a renewed sense of purpose, I’m anxious, I cannot wait to get into the ring and we’re going to show what we are made of on Friday night.

ADRIAN CURIEL

You learn a lot in defeat. It’s difficult to swallow but I am not a bad loser, and I do feel that I’m very well prepared going into this fight, and why not have the dream of becoming a World champion once again.

I will not be overlooking my opponent on Friday and looking to the future, first we have to deal with Friday night. After that, what’s next will down to my management and promoters. Perhaps it’s a World title or a final eliminator for one, but first the work needs to be done on Friday.
