Lightweight Dennis Laurente scored a fourth round TKO in his U.S debut on the undercard of the Manny Pacquiao-David Diaz ?Lethal Combination? showdown at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casinoin Las Vegas.

Clearly behind on points against Pacquiao?s sparring partner Steve Quinonez, Laurente caught the veteran with a solid right counter to drop him in the final minute of round four before putting on the pressure to send Quinonez to the canvas once again with another hard right hook.

Laurente, a fighter of Johnny Elorde who worked his corner with Pacquiao?s assistant trainer Nonoy Neri went after Quinonez who clung on and went down from a push and hurt his ankle.

He limped to his corner and was forced to call it quits.

Laurente improved to 29-3-5 with 15 knockouts while Quinonez dropped to 30-13-1 with 10 knockouts.

While Quinonez, a southpaw got the better of the Filipino, also a southpaw in the early going it was clear that he did not have the power to hurt Laurente who decided to step up the pressure in round four which eventually paid off.
