M.A Yabut Realty gear up to 2025 Mayor Arlene Arcillas rapid chess tatluhan team tournament

Santa Rosa City, Laguna---Strategic minds are ready, the M.A Yabut Realty chess team and the M. A Yabut Realty & Development chess team, backed up by executive chess champion Mark Anthony Yabut, are poised to carry the banner to new heights in the heart of Santa Rosa on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at the 2025 Mayor Arlene Arcillas rapid chess tatluhan team tournament (2100 average rating and below), hosted by Vista Mall, Sta. Rosa City, Laguna.

"Their keen intellect, honed through rigorous training and countless matches, is their sharpest weapon on the chessboard," Mark Anthony Yabut, referring to the members of M.A Yabut Realty and M. A Yabut Realty & Development chess team.

Yabut will spearheaded M.A Yabut Realty together with IM Angelo Abundo Young and Sheider Nebato while the M. A Yabut Realty & Development chess team is composed of army players in the likes of NM Carlo Magno Rosaupan, Kevin Mirano and Kevin Arquero.

"We hope to do well in this event," added IM Young, an 8-time Illinois USA Champion, who is also the head coach of Emilio Aguinaldo College Manila chess team.

Meanwhile, NM Ronald Llavanes, Lennon Salgados and Alfred Rapanot led the M2 Constructura Yabut Const. (Team- DND AIR force) while IM Hamed Nouri, Michael Punzalan and Mark Bravo will be the top players of JS Yabut Realty.

Other participating teams are Marinduque Team A (Christian Jake Sace, Darel Pizarra, Toche Quijano); Marinduque Team B (Nathanael Raje Lumalang, Aldrin Nazareno, Clarence Macunat); Team Minus - Cabuyao City (Apollo Agapay , Fredie Casabuena , Ronald Clacio); Manny Pacquiao Team (Kimuel Aaron Lorenzo, Sherwin Tiu, Ricardo Batcho) and Team Sasotize - Laguna (FM David Elorta, Alexis Emil Maribao, Cyrus Vladimir Francisco).

Organized by the Rotary Club of Nuvali in cooperation with Philippine Executive Chess Association and Laguna Chess Association, the 1 day tournament will apply a 7 Round Swiss System, 15 minutes plus 3 seconds delay time control format.

According to Magical President Engr. Carmencita Dionisio of Rotary Club of Nuvali that all proceeds of this event will be used to construct a waiting shed in Pulong Sta. Cruz Elementary School for the convenience of students.

The champion team will earn P30,000 plus a trophy. The second placer will get P20,000 plus trophy, third placer will receive P10,000 plus trophy , fourth placer will bring home P7,000 while the fifth placer will pocket P5,000. Sixth to 10th placers will bring home P3,000 each.

Special awards will receive P3,000 plus trophy each for the Top Executive Team, Top Government Team, Top College Team, Top High School Team, Top Lady Team and Top Sta. Rosa City Team.

The gold medalists in Boards 1, 2 and 3 will pocket P2,000 each plus medal, silver medalists will earn P1500 each plus medal and bronze medalists will receive P1000 each plus medal.
