
Concio unbeaten for IIEE Quezon to advance to Finals of PTC-WED

IIEE Quezon players IM Michael Concio, FM Mark Jay Bacojo, Kelly Rancap and brothers Chester Neil and Narquingel Reyes scored 10 points or more to drubbed IIEE Western Visayas 67-32 in their semifinal match in the Regular Season of the 3rd D’ Engineers Cup of PTC-WED (World Engineering Day) hosted by Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers (IIEE) last February 15, 2025.
In the other semi-final pairing, IIEE Metro Central subdued IIEE Saudi with Stephen Manzanero, IM Angelo Young and NM Almario Marlon Bernardino Jr. leading the charge for the team. It will be a final battle of 2 Quezon’s team as Metro Central area covers the Quezon City.
The online chess tournament was being held at Lichess Platform.
Meanwhile, the Professional Chess Association of the Philippines (PCAP) team IIEE-PSME Quezon Simba’s Tribe will have a courtesy meeting with Hon. Mayor Joy Belmonte on February 17 for the recognition of NM Bernardino for his numerous feat locally and internationally.
The team owner Danilo Ponay with last conference co-management IIEE and Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers (PSME) hope to continue its partnership together with QC for the next conference that may start on March.
In the last year all-star basketball match in the 2nd Engineers cup basketball, GM Joey Antonio showcased his prowess in basketball as he led the selection team of Philippine Technological Council (PTC) over the IIEE Selection.
IIEE teams GenX (40 years old above) and 40 years old below Millennial Division are the back to back champions in this annual event with Institute of Electronic Engineers of the Philippines (IECEP) as perennial runner up. This year basketball will be hosted by IECEP from March 8 to March 30.
