SEVENTEEN-YEAR-OLD Clarens "The Nightmare" Villacastin of Davao City will fight Julius Marcos from General Santos City in the main event of the Reality Fighting League [RFL] Kickboxing Series on January 19 at Diho 2 Covered Court in Cabantian Davao City.

Villacastin recently won the gold medal in 56 kilograms at the Batang Pinoy held in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

Villacastin of the Aguila Combat Academy beat three opponents from Baguio, Iloilo and Tabaco before crushing Jasper Cudiaman of Nueva Vizcaya in the finals.

“I don’t expect too much from my fight because I recently dislocated my shoulder and neither you nor I are totally healed,” said Villacastin.

But Villacastin, who is coached by former Philippine team member Sharmaine Florence, will make sure that he “can give a nice, beautiful play.”

Villacastin, who started at 8 years old, has already 35 fights with only three losses.

He has sparred already with his coaches and fellow teammates at the RJP Gym.

Villacastin thinks that 21-year-old Marcos is more experienced than him.

“I know that my opponent is more experienced than me this coming fight, but I will do everything to give my opponent a very beautiful fight,” said Villacastin.

The RFL Kickboxing Series led by Lloyd Anthony Abucayan is sanctioned by the Asia Kickboxing Association Inc. (AKAI).

It will have at least 11 pairs in their initial tournament dubbed as the “Kingdom on Heroes”.

The participating clubs are The Monarchs Jiu-jitsu of Gen. Santos City, Mindanao Ultimate Mixed Martial Arts of Cagayan de Oro, RUSH Fitness Gym of Tagum, Manny Pacquiao Gym of Digos, Outcast MMA of Bukidnon, Aguila Combat Academy, Bandera Muay Thai Camp, RJP Boxing Gym Davao, i.Flex SparTam Davao Fighters, Primo Fitness & Martial Arts and the R.E REYES Muay Thai Boxing Fitness Gym of Davao City.

Tickets are sold at P250 only.
