Filipino tennis star Nino Alcantara, one of Cebuana Lhuillier’s Tennis Ambassadors, is set to represent the Philippines on the international stage, competing in a string of high-profile ATP Challenger tournaments in Asia over the coming months. The ATP Challenger 75 event in Bangkok, Thailand, which runs from January 6 to 12, marks the start of his campaign.

Unified Tennis Philippines President and Cebuana Lhuillier President and CEO Jean Henri Lhuillier expressed his excitement about Alcantara’s international journey, stating, “It’s thrilling to see Nino competing at such a high level. His dedication and hard work have been exemplary, and I’m confident that all his preparations will bear fruit. We’re fully behind him as he brings pride to Philippine tennis.”

In the last three months, Alcantara has secured the doubles title at a regional ITF tournament in November and followed it up with a runner-up finish in December at another ITF event.

Following the ATP Challenger 75 in Bangkok, Alcantara’s busy calendar includes another Challenger 75 tournament in Bangkok from January 13 to 19, followed by a series of ATP Challenger 100 events in Chennai, Bahrain or New Delhi, Pune, and Bengaluru throughout February. Riding on his current form and buoyed by the support of Philippine tennis organizations, Alcantara is well-positioned to achieve significant milestones and inspire a new generation of Filipino athletes.-Marlon Bernardino-
