Wong, Villaseran Shine in Thrilling Cavite Speedcubing Open

The Cavite Speedcubing Open delivered high-stakes excitement and record-breaking performances, with reigning champions and rising stars showcasing their skills in the two-day competition.

Brenton Wong Dominates Centerpiece Event (3x3x3)

Reigning 3x3x3 National Champion Brenton Wong cemented his supremacy in the competition’s centerpiece event with an extraordinary average of 5.81 seconds. His all-around prowess was further highlighted by podium finishes in multiple categories:
1st place: 3x3x3 One-Handed
2nd place: 4x4x4, 5x5x5
3rd place: 6x6x6, Megaminx

Villaseran Sisters Make Waves

Cielo Beatriz Villaseran, a rising talent, stole the show in the Skewb event, setting a new personal-best average of 5.36 seconds en route to the gold medal while her twin sister, Anne Gwyneth Villaseran, emerged as the top female competitor in the 3x3x3 event.

Record-Breaking Performances by Inigo Palisoc

Inigo Palisoc delivered a standout performance, resetting national records while winning the 5x5x5 and 6x6x6 events. He also claimed gold in the 4x4x4 and 7x7x7 categories, finishing second in 3x3x3 and third in 2x2x2.

Other Notable Champions and Performances

Juan Miguel Magallanes, a prodigy in the making, secured gold in 2x2x2, along with podium finishes in Skewb (2nd) and 3x3x3 (3rd).
Yuji Yoshida showcased his expertise in the 3x3x3 Fewest Moves, earning gold while also claiming podium spots in Clock (2nd), Pyraminx (3rd), and 7x7x7 (3rd).

Ayooluwa Samuel Dada emerged victorious in the Megaminx event and bagged silver medals in the 6x6x6 and 7x7x7 events. He also reset the National record for 4x4x4 average and 5x5x5 average for Nigeria.

Marc Jason Laresma won the 5x5x5 Blindfolded category.

Dimetri De La Rea ruled the Clock event

Chris Padua triumphed in the Pyraminx competition and wo silver medal in 3x3x3 fewest moves and bronze medal in Clock.
Isaiah Feria bagged silver medals in 2x2x2 and Pyraminx.

High-Profile Competitors

Aside from the podium finishers, the event drew an impressive roster of seasoned speedcubers ensuring a high-level and exciting competitions:

The Principe brothers, Prince Zoei and Prince Zian, with Zoei being the current Clock national record holder(single) and bronze medalist at the Asian Speedcubing Championships in Malaysia.
Nicole Santos, the female national record holder in Clock, who reset her own record with a stunning single solve of 3.72 seconds.

The Jagonio brothers, Elijah, a Clock specialist and Philippine Championships bronze medalist and his very versatile brother, Ethan.

Outstanding Organization
