The Benguet State University Alumni Association has praised and featured the achievements of Award-winning Filipino Boxing promoter Brico Santig as one of their alma mater inspirational alumni.

The active and affable Brico Santig successfully completed his High School Education at Benguet State University (BSU) in 1992.

Here is Bricoโ€™s story as ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ๐˜ด๐˜ฆ๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ค๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฅ ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ ๐˜ค๐˜ฐ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฑ๐˜ช๐˜ญ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฅ ๐˜ฃ๐˜บ ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ ๐˜‰๐˜š๐˜œ ๐˜ˆ๐˜ญ๐˜ถ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฏ๐˜ช ๐˜ˆ๐˜ด๐˜ด๐˜ฐ๐˜ค๐˜ช๐˜ข๐˜ต๐˜ช๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ, ๐˜๐˜ฏ๐˜ค. โ€œThe Highland Boxing Gym in Bangkok, Thailand, also known as Thailand Heroes Sports Center opened in 2017.

โ€œItโ€™s a dream come true,โ€ says Brico, an international boxing promoter, manager and matchmaker. It started as Muay Thai Gym in 1998 in La Trinidad, Benguet.

In 2005, it was known as Highland Boxing Promotion (HBP) to train Cordillerans but eventually serves Asia and the Middle East. HBP became a home to many fighters who won international titles not only from the Philippines but also from Thailand.

It is acclaimed to have brought boxing to more countries in Asia than any other promoter and matchmaker of his generation.

He started as promoter in 2006 at the University of Baguio.

The next promotion event on Boxing and Muay Thai during the World Boxing Council (WBC) 3rd Womenโ€™s Convention in Manila was broadcasted live to China with 9.4 million viewers.

As an excellent promoter, he had awards. In 2013, he was the WBC Asia Pacific Region Promoter of the Year.

In 2015, he received two major awards from prestigious boxing organizations in the Asia-Pacific region.

In 2016, he was WBCs Asia Oriental Promoter of the Year for promoting boxing events in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and India.

In 2018, he was WBCs Asia Pacific Region Promoter of the year, and in 2019 as Southeast Asiaโ€™s Promoter.

BoxRec mentioned that Santig has promoted 12 boxing events that featured 17 regional world titles of WBC, World Boxing Association, World Boxing Organization, International Boxing Organization, and Womenโ€™s International Boxing Association and national boxing events.

Santig is known as a fighter since his teens in combative sports.

He was later known as โ€œHurricaneโ€ because of his whirlwind tornado kick as Muay Thai fighter.

His colleagues appreciate his being soft spoken and is loved by children as he is friendly and while in La Trinidad, he invites them, including BSU students, to realize their dream in the gym.โ€

Congratulation Mr. Brico Santig from Philboxing, The Filipino Boxing Portal!
