Sherwin Tiu bags 7th SIKAT also dubbed as Ritchie "Bolong” Evangelista tournament

In commemoration of the 1st death anniversary of Ritchie “Bolong” Evangelista, his children Architects Paul Robert and Princess Rose Evangelista sponsored the 7th SIKAT (Special IIEE-Bayanihan Knockout Armageddon Tournament) held at the Greenfield District Pavilion Mall, Mandaluyong City last September 20, 2024.

Sherwin Tiu (2329 blitz rating) bested the double knockout Armageddon format with a perfect run wins against Jamie Criste (1971), National Master Romeo Alcodia (2154), Julian Paul Querubin (1908) and twice against Nazario Ubanan (2180). Ubanan won against Darwin Secorata (1950), Rodel Jose Juadinez (1954) and twice with Jerry Areque (2114). Areque is 3rd place with wins against Querubin, Anatoly Pascua (2062) and twice with Dennis San Juan (2033). Querubin placed 4th with wins against Juadinez, Fabian Elago (1916) and Nathaniel Cruz (1955). The IIEE-PSME Quezon City Simba’s Tribe of PCAP coach Michaela Concio also participated in the event.

The 8th SIKAT goes to Mindanao on October 1, 2024 to be held at ABC hall, old city hall complex, Brgy. New Pandan, Panabo City Davao del Norte. The event will also feature one-on-one exhibition between 2024 Laos Champion NM Marlon Bernardino and 2023 World Youth Blitz champion FM Christian Gian Karlo Arca.-Marlon Bernardino-
