PATTAYA, Thailand – In an exciting rematch, French Super Lightweight Ibrahim Chabane overpowered in three chapters Phatiphan "Tiger" Krungklang of Thailand, getting sweet revenge from his former foe, while claiming the WBA ASIA South 140-pound title Saturday, July 13, at the FCC Boxing Gym in Pattaya Beach, Kingdom of Thailand.

The war was the much-awaited rematch of the their thrilling rumble last April.

In their first harsh encounter, the experienced Phitiphan Krungklang, who is also a bare knuckle fighter, rocked and shocked Ibrahim, stopping him two frames, dropping fans' jaws.

This time, the result was destined to be different.

From the sound of the first bell, the 27-year-old Ibrahim Chabane (5-2, 5 KO's), went on the attack, swinging and landing power shots on the more experienced Phatiphan, staggering him, dropping him two times with tough combinations.

Never backing away from fire, warrior-heart Phatiphan (18-8-1, 10 KO's), replied with hard hands of his own, halting for awhile the bombardment dished out by the Frenchman.

But as Ibrahim re-took the initiative, he rocked and sent Phatiphan to the canvas two more times, thrilling the Pattaya crowd.

So far Ibrahim was demonstrating superior fire power and determination, a far cry from the first fight.

The battle raged-on in round two with the two fighters exchanging blows in the center of the ring, though it was already crystal clear by now that the stronger Ibrahim Chabane the one inflicting the damage.

In the fateful third round, Ibrahim landed consecutive shots that visibly hurt Phatiphan.

While the brave Thai warrior tried to clear his head from the onslaught, he was getting caught again with vicious left hook against the ropes that finally forced the third man Prommase Chakshurakshak to step-in and waive off the fight.

Official time was 1:50 into the third.

Ibrahim Chabane of France is the New WBA Asia South Super Flyweight Champion.

With the win, the heavily-bearded Ibrahim gets sweet revenge from his former tormentor, setting the record straight, conquering the WBA ASIA South Super belt, and getting pumped up for more challenging missions in the hot super lightweight division.

Promoters for the Pattaya show were Alessio Bisutti in association with Nazar Moroz, Brico Santig and Supanat Chanram.
