P50,000 worth of pot prizes in 1st PMA Masikhay Class 99 chess

A TOTAL P50,000 worth of pot prizes is at stake in the 1st PMA Masikhay Class 99 Chess Tournament set August 3 at the 3rd floor SM City BF Parañaque, Dr. Arcadio Santos Ave, Parañaque City.

Assistant Tournament Director Grandmaster elect and International Master Ronald Dableo bared this on Tuesday enjoining avid chess enthusiasts to join the tournament open for Filipinos and foreigners.

He said the champion will pocket P10,000, while the runner-up will take home P7,000 and the third placer will receive P5,000. The fourth and fifth players will claim P3,000 and P2,000, respectively, while the sixth to 15th placers will each get P1,000 along with the top Army, Navy Airforce and top boy and girl in each age group (top 14 years old, top 12 years old, top 10 years old and top 8 years old) will each win P1,000.

"We are excited to invite you to participate in our upcoming 1st PMA Masikhay Class 99 Chess Tournament. This event is open to all chess enthusiasts who want to test their skills and compete against other players," said Dableo, 2003 Vungtau, Vietnam Asian Zonal Champion.

"A chance to win raffle prizes, 10 rubberized chess mats," added Dableo, one of the top players of the multi-titled Philippine Army Chess Team.

Dableo, a former World Cup qualifier who is also the head coach of UAAP Chess Champion University of Santo Tomas.
