BANGKOK, Thailand — IN DEVASTATING FASHION, Joepher Berja Montaño (18-5-2, 16 KO’s) of Negros Occidental DISASSEMBLED in two rounds his Thai opponent Atchariya Wirojanasunobol (14-3, 6 KO’s) to take home the WBO Oriental Welterweight Title.

The fast and furious rumble was one of the main fights in Brico Santig’s Highland Promotions show on Saturday. March 30, at the World Siam Stadium here in Thailand’s capital. Bangkok.

From the getgo, Montaño and Atchariya engaged in a heated battle, throwing and landing power shots with the Pinoy fighter pressing forward, prevailing in most of the exchanges.

Atchariya saw some success early in frame two, placing a rough combination on Montaño’s head.

But the Filipino southpaw countered with a far more devastating attack exploding a monster long right hand to the chin of his opponent, short-circuiting the Thai warrior and blacking him out flat-on-his-back in the middle of the ring from where he could not get up.

Atchiraya might not even had listened to the counting of the referee.

When the count reached 10, the third man waved the fight off, Atchariya still sleeping.

With the thrilling victory, Joepher Montaño not only gets revenge against Atchariya for defeating him six years ago here in Bangkok but Montaño also takes home the brand new WBO Oriental Welterweight belt, and might have even gotten even a place in the world ranking in the hot 147-pound weight class where the undisputed king is none other than Terence Crawford.

Earlier in the evening, Baguio Fight Girl Jesebelle Pagaduan edged a non-title, close, hard-found win by points.

The show was a production of Highland Boxing Promotions.
