IIEE bags esport championship in the PTC World Engineering day

On March 23, 2024, a team of student tagged themselves as Superteam of Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers (IIEE) bags gold in the Championship Game for the Esports Tournament during the PTC World Engineering Day celebration. The team competed against the Professional Team , ITY of Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineering (PSME )and won with a score of 3-0 in a best of five game series.

The Philippine Technological Council (PTC) Young Engineers Section hosted the first ever Esports Tournament to provide inclusivity to all mobile gamers from 13 Engineering associations in the Philippines. Esports like mobile legend has emerged as a dynamic and rapidly growing field, providing avenues for teamwork,strategy, and competitive spirit.

During the qualifying rounds, the Superteam (IIEE) dominated the Student Division, defeating PSABE or Philippine Society of agricultural and biosystems Engineers (BPSU Green Guardians), IECEP or Institute of Electronic Engineers of the Philippines (Airvir Pro Max), and IIEE BulSU without a single loss.

In the Professional Division, PSME (IYT) secures their place in the championship game by defeating teams from IECEP (Cabalen Telecommanders) and PSABE (RAED IV-A).

The qualifying games were held virtually, while the championship took place at the Smart Tower, Makati City, and was hosted by the Network Strategy Transformation Office of SMART PLDT. -Marlon Bernardino-
