Patrick Bonifacio to compete in GM Balinas Open rapid chess tournament in Robinsons Galleria

Manila---"Giant Slayer" Patrick Bonifacio is set to compete in the GM Rosendo Carreon Balinas Jr. Open rapid chess tournament on March 23, Saturday, 10am at the 3rd floor Robinsons Galleria Ortigas corner Edsa, Quezon City.

"I hope to do well in this event," said Bonifacio, a habitue of Tarrasch Knight Chess Club in Guadalupe Complex, Makati City.
The event, hosted by the Bayanihan Chess Club, sponsored by GM Balinas family, offers a top purse of P10,000.

Other woodpushers vying in the event, supported by Atty. Juman Paa, Dr. Ariel Potot, IDIM DIY Bakery, Shimmer & Shield Car Coating president/CEO Jeff Bugayong, RDR Business Solution Inc. pres./CEO/Pambansang business mentor Reymond Delos Reyes, Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines national past prexy Engr. Allan Anthony Alvarez and Engr. Roger Reyes, are GM Rogelio "Joey" Antonio Jr., GM Darwin Laylo, IM Jose Efren Bagamasbad, IM Rolando Nolte, IM Ronald Bancod, FM Adrian Ros Pacis, FM Randy Segarra and FM Noel Dela Cruz.

Other notable masters participating in the event backed up by Robinsons Galleria Ortigas, Biyaherong Arbiter, AIM Mark John Centillo, WFM Kathnry Ann Cruz-Hardegen, Jennifer Cruz, Rosalyn Cruz , Jonas Cruz, Jessie Villasin, Travis Vincent Chua, Nova Wellness Store and Starshots Coffee are NM Oscar Joseph Cantela, NM Lorenzo Aaron Cantela, NM Homer Cunanan, NM Jose Aquino Jr. and NM Rodolfo Panopio Jr.

The second to third placers will receive P5,000 and P2,500, respectively. Fourth to 10th placers will earn P500 each.
Also on tap is the GMG Cup Coach NM Gerald Ferriol youth division (18 years old and below) with the winner pocketing P5,000.
