PH beats Estonia in online chess

Manila---Arena International Master Chester Caminong stunned Candidate Master Nikita Rychagov, 4-3, to lift the Philippines to a shock 2-1 victory over highly favored Estonia held thru online Lichess Platform on Friday, March 15.

"I am so very happy," said Caminong, chess coach of San Beda Alabang who is also part of the coaching staff of the star-studded Dasmariñas Chess Academy headed by national coach FM Roel Abelgas.

Candidate Master Genghis Imperial, on the other hand bested Egert Pedak, 1-0, to secure the victory for the Filipino woodpushers.
International Master and Woman Grandmaster Mai Narva edged Woman Grandmaster Janelle Mae Frayna, 5-4, to prevent a possible shutout loss for Estonia.

The online rapid (15 minutes plus 5 seconds increment) chess match-ups hosted by Europe based Kim "The Gambling Mathematician" Yutangco Zafra offered a total pot prize of 700 Euros.
